Appointment and selection

The requirements underpinning the legitimacy of an appointment

World Leaders College International recognises individuals whose career, work or legacy meet its highest standards of merit, impact and integrity. This honour is the act by which the College officially recognises the value of the distinguished contribution and the institutional status accorded to it.

In terms of development, this recognition honours contributions that have advanced the progress of peoples, strengthened institutions or paved the way for sustainable progress in the human, social, economic, scientific, cultural or environmental spheres. It honours works whose effects extend beyond individual achievement to form part of a process of collective transformation, transmission and sustainable progress.

Each recognition is formalised by an institutional document which identifies the individual, sets out the merits recognised and determines the distinction conferred. Its entry in the official registers and the guarantees of authenticity attached to the College’s documents confer upon it full authority.
